When ordering a Type & Screen or Red Blood Cells in the Support Plan for Chronic Transfusion Patients, the order asks for a patient’s sickle cell status.  If the answer to that order question does not match what is documented in the patient’s problem list, a new BPA will fire, prompting the ordering user to update the problem list or amend the order.
