FAQ

What is PIVOT, powered by Epic?

PIVOT, Promoting Innovation by Valuing Organizational Transformation, is an organizational transformation that promotes accountability, engagement, communication, change management, risk mitigation, and focused metrics. The PIVOT project encompasses multiple parallel transformational projects, in addition to our Epic implementation, which will transform the way we deliver care at Main Line Health. PIVOT’s parallel projects will be featured in our Inside PIVOT newsletter as well as on our website. Please be sure to follow our website and Inside PIVOT to learn more about the additional PIVOT projects.

When will we launch Epic?

Main Line Health will be launching Epic on Saturday, March 3, 2018. On this day, MLH acute care and ambulatory locations will transition to a single, integrated electronic health record (EHR) system. MLH HomeCare & Hospice will participate in their own Epic launch at the end of 2018.

Why has Main Line Health established a basic leave time restriction period?

The Epic launch is a historic milestone for Main Line Health.  When we launch on Saturday, March 3, 2018, it will cumulate years of planning, work, and dedication from our PIVOT team and many members of the System. The basic leave time (BLT) restriction period was created to ensure the success of our Epic launch, which will transform the way we deliver care now and in the future at MLH.  In order to allow every employee the opportunity to participate in our Systemwide transformation, the BLT restriction period applies to all MLH employees.  Though exceptions to this policy have been outlined in our initial messaging, we realize that there are select events that are of great importance to our staff.  MLH managers and appointed designees have been tasked with reviewing and delivering the final approval of these requests during the BLT restriction period.  Please work with your manager to discuss your personal situation as we move towards launch.

How can I be involved in the PIVOT project?

All MLH staff are key participants in our historic transformation. There are multiple ways to be a part of the launch including being a member of one of the launch support teams.  Managers will inform staff when we begin to recruit for launch support positions. If you would like to be involved in the launch, please discuss with your manger and follow Inside PIVOT to stay up to date on launch support positions.
